Adopt Animals

Giving Animals a Voice!

We speak for those who can’t speak to make sure that they get a fair shot at the happiness they deserve.

We try to help control the pet population!

We make sure that all of our animals have been either spayed or neutered before they go to their forever homes.

We place animals in their forever homes!

We match animals with people, so that the animal and the new owners have the loving relationship that both deserve.

VOLUNTEERING

HAHR volunteers are the backbone of our rescue. We come from many different backgrounds (nurses, realtors, office workers, retirees, homemakers, students, etc) and we all share a common concern for our animal friends. Our volunteers support our mission to give adoptable, shelter animals the second chance that they deserve.

HEAVEN AFTER HELL RESCUE

We are an animal rescue that believes in giving shelter animals a voice and happy home. We take in unwanted or abused dogs and cats from high kill shelters. We prepare them for adoption and find the perfect match for the adoptive family and the animal.

If You Find A Stray Animal

WHAT TO DO IF YOU FIND A STRAY!
1. Post on facebook group “Indianapolis Lost Pet Alert”. Try to include a photo.
2. Take it to a vet to get scanned for a microchip.
3. The stray animal must be reported to your local Animal Control within 48 hours. You may also take the animal there. Owner’s will not always call every rescue group looking for their dog/cat but they will call the city’s shelter, most times.
4. You may not rehome the pet, immediately. The stray hold for citizens and rescues is 30 days.
5. Whether you can foster the pet until you find an owner or you have to take it to the shelter, hang flyers in the found location, with contact info of where the pet is.

We take in dogs and cats from high kill shelters. We do not take in wildlife. For concerns about wildlife, please follow this link http://www.in.gov/dnr/fishwild/5492.htm
